This is part of the Beautiful Cookbook series which include America, California, China, Italy, Mediterranean, Mexico, Pacific Northwest, Provence, Southwest, Thailand and Tuscany. I was wondering when they will do one about the Philippines, or at least the Southeast Asian region and lo and behold I found it. It is really a handsome book, replete with beautiful photographs. I don't even want to put this in my kitchen lest I soil it or something. The section on the Philippines is about 12 pages long, with a few traditional recipes like kari kari (their spelling), paksiw, sinigang etc. which are probably ok but I'm sure many Filipino families have their own better versions. But then, this such a beautiful cookbook that it is worth owning.
