Manong Ken's Recipe of the Month - October 1998


Pork BBQ

2 lb pork cut into 2 inch strips or squares
garlic, chopped
onions, chopped
soy sauce
kalamansi or lemon
ground black or white pepper
beer or 7-UP
salt
bamboo sticks or skewers

Mix first eight ingredients, marinate for at least an hour in the refrigerator. I usually don't have measurements for these ingredients. Add whatever amount you like. You won't go wrong with this recipe. After an hour (or two), skewer meat - usually 5 pieces per bamboo stick. Grill in an open grill if possible. You can also grill these inside the oven - arrange sticks on a baking pan and grill until meat is cooked. Makes good pulutan with San Miguel Beer.
