Munggo

Munggo or mung bean (baeatong in Aklanon) is a versatile vegetable. The beans (above) is the main ingredient in ginisang munggo (sauteed mung bean) which is one of the more popular vegetable dishes in the Philippines. The leaves are also used as an ingredient in vegetable stews. Most of all, the sprouts are a mainstay in fried lumpia.
